What is it about?
STEM FOR ALL: Integrating Technology to Overcome Learning Barriers is an intensive blended programme that seeks to advance the integration of inclusive STEM education into early childhood and primary teacher training.
Goal of the project:
Participants will examine how STEM education can be made accessible, playful, and inquiry-driven for children aged 3–10. They will explore how young learners interact with scientific phenomena, experiment with early computational thinking, and develop curiosity and foundational skills for lifelong learning in a digital world. Central to this programme is the idea that technology, when thoughtfully integrated, can dismantle barriers to participation and open new pathways to engagement for diverse learners.
Objectives:
The programme will engage participants in:
- exploring inclusive and experiential pedagogies tailored to early childhood and primary education;
- learning how to use digital technologies and adaptive tools to support differentiated instruction;
- co-designing accessible and low-cost STEM activities that can be implemented in varied classroom contexts;
- reflecting on gender equity, accessibility, and cultural diversity in STEM education;
- practicing formative and inclusive assessment strategies that value progress and participation
Main topics:
- Designing and evaluating hands-on STEM activities for children aged 3–10
- Integrating sustainability and digital technologies into STEM lessons
- Addressing gender stereotypes and promoting inclusion in STEM education
- Developing open educational resources and low-cost STEM kits
- Using formative assessment in early STEM learning environments
- Building reflective professional practices and collaborative teaching strategies
Type of activities:
The event will consist of interactive lectures, hands-on workshops, field visits to educational institutions and science outreach centres, and international teamwork sessions.
