“Should I Stay or Should I Go” – The role of Organizational

Turnover intention is one of the most studied variables for developing retention strategies. The purpose of this study was to provide a predictive model for
employee’s retention in IT industry. In order to achieve this goal a research with 110 participants, professionals from Information & Technology industry (94 men, 16 women) was conducted. A structural equation model demonstrated that psychological empowerment predicts the intention to remain in the organization and this effect is completely mediated by the organizational commitment. The contribution added by the study is related to proposing a model that can be useful for human resources specialists and researchers interested in developing retention strategies.
